The 8.2" high carbon stainless steel chef knife is a hybrid-style knife, meaning that it has the traditional Western-style curved blade, but the thin profile and lightweight of a thinner, Japanese-style one. The chef knife also has a forged bolster—that's the enlarged section where the knife blade meets the handle. This not only gives the knife superior balance and control, but also makes the blade more comfortable to grip.
Combining beautiful form with high function, this chef’s knife has a full tang extra wide blade that is uniformly hardened and perfectly balanced. But it’s not just this blade that gives the knife its robust strength – its red fire G10 handle continues this theme. The G10 has amazing dimensional stability and mechanical strength. It doesn’t shrink or swell when exposed to high or low temperatures.
